In-Depth Exchange between Chairman Yuan Kaifei and Mr. George Procopiou, Founder of Greek Shipowner Dynacom
Mr. George Procopiou, founder and principal of the renowned Greek shipping company Dynacom Tankers Management (Dynacom), along with his wife Mrs. Alexandra Procopiou, paid a visit to our company. They were warmly welcomed and accompanied by Mr. Yuan Kaifei, Chairman of the company, Mr. Zhang Yuyong, Executive Deputy General Manager, Mr. Yuan Heng, Deputy General Manager & Executive Director, and Mr. Chen Yajun, Head of the Business Department.
Chairman Yuan Kaifei extended a warm welcome to Mr. Procopiou and his delegation, expressing gratitude for Dynacom's long-standing trust and support. He stated that Dynacom is an important cooperative partner of our company, and currently there are 28 orders for various types of oil tankers under construction at the shipyard, covering mainstream tanker types ranging from LR1 to VLCC. This not only demonstrates Dynacom's trust in the brand and technology of New Times Shipbuilding but also reflects the solid foundation of their cooperation. Both parties reached a consensus to continue working together to address market challenges and deepen the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.
During the visit, Mr. Procopiou and his delegation visited Dynacom's site office at the shipyard, expressed their regards to the supervision and construction team, and inspected the No. 4 Dock as well as core facilities such as the 1,000-ton and 1,600-ton gantry cranes. He highly praised the company's continuous investment in infrastructure construction and expressed full confidence in the quality of the ships built here and the progress of delivery.
Furthermore, accompanied by Mr. Zhang Yuyong, Executive Deputy General Manager of the company and Mr. Romeo Mustata, Site Manager of Dynacom, Mr. and Mrs. Procopiou boarded the first ship in the series of 73,500 DWT oil tankers ordered by Dynacom that is currently in the outfitting stage at the quay, and gained a detailed understanding of the construction progress. This ship is scheduled to be delivered in early January 2026. Mr. Procopiou highly recognized the construction quality of the ship and the project management work, and expressed his expectation that the new ship will inject new vitality into Dynacom's fleet.
